This project aims to explore the potential implications of social media usage, which could be of interest to the academic community.'
❌ 'It is worth noting that little research has been done on how first-generation immigrant students navigate STEM identity in community colleges. It would be beneficial to investigate this further.' 两个 hedge('it is worth noting' / 'it would be beneficial'),主语是'little research'(不是你在做),没有承诺。✅ 'No published study has examined STEM identity formation among first-generation immigrants at Midwestern community colleges. This project fills that gap.'
❌ 'The research may involve semi-structured interviews with approximately fifteen participants, which could be analyzed using thematic coding, and a survey instrument might also be considered.' ✅ 'I will conduct semi-structured interviews (30-45 min) with 15 participants recruited from three advising offices in the Chicago metro. Interviews will be transcribed and coded inductively in NVivo 14.' 没有 may、could、might。
❌ 'This study could potentially contribute to the broader understanding of immigrant student experiences and may provide insights for policymakers.' ✅ 'This project produces the first validated interview framework for identifying isolation points among first-generation immigrants in their first 18 months at community colleges. Transfer-taskforce members and advising staff gain a tool they can deploy next semester.'
这时候打开 easydue,把你自己的 draft 丢进去,把那些 'it would be interesting to explore' 的软句子收紧成 'this project examines'——思路是你的,句子不再道歉就行。
最后一条校准:proposal 的语法签名是现在-未来时、第一人称主动、定冠词('the gap' / 'this project' / 'the framework')。essay 的语法签名是过去时、被动、不定冠词加 hedge('a gap' / 'this study could' / 'potential frameworks')。 但当你自己的 draft 卡在 essay 模式,满篇 'it might be worth considering',它把 hedge 剥掉,把陈述句立起来。
