Discussion 写成文献签收单，导师批了两个字：敷衍

Discussion 不是你的研究跟别人"撞了"，是你的研究替文献"填空"。

你翻自己的 discussion，数一下 "consistent with" 出现了多少次。三次？五次？八次？恭喜，你写的不叫 discussion，叫文献比对表。导师批"你的讨论缺乏原创性"的时候，你以为他嫌你英文不够好、用词不够高级、句式不够复杂。不是。他嫌你把论文里最该烧脑的段落，写成了最不需要脑子的格式。你堆了八个 "consistent with"，他看到的不是八段论证，是八次"我读了，然后呢"。

"This finding is consistent with the work of Smith (2020) and Jones (2019)." 这句话信息量是多少？零。它只证明你读了那两篇。它没有告诉你为什么一致、一致到什么程度、一致的背后是什么机制在驱动。你写了一整段 "consistent with"，等于在跟读者说："我读了文献，然后……然后我就不知道还能说啥了。" 这就是为什么你的讨论读起来没有声音。不是英文的问题，是你根本没有在"讨论"。

Discussion 的核心动作不是"比"，是"缝"。你的发现跟文献之间只有三种关系：补全（前人没看到的你看到了）、修正（前人的结论在你的样本里站不住）、解释（前人报告了现象但没给机制，你给了）。三种关系，三种写法，没有一种需要 "consistent with"。写之前，我习惯把要引用的文献丢 easydue 让它帮我标出每篇的方法论局限和结论边界。不是让它代写，是让它帮我看清楚裂缝在哪。你才知道该往哪个方向"缝"。

❌ "Our findings are consistent with previous research showing a positive relationship between sleep deprivation and cognitive performance (Lee, 2019; Park, 2021)." ✅ "Lee (2019) and Park (2021) documented the sleep–cognition link in adult samples, but neither accounted for the developmental trajectory of prefrontal cortex maturation. Our data, collected from adolescents aged 14–17, suggest the effect is steeper at this age — not merely consistent, but quantitatively distinct from the adult pattern these studies reported." 看到区别了吗？第二句不是"我跟他一样"，是"我跟他不一样，而且我告诉你为什么不一样"。这才叫讨论。

❌ "These results are consistent with the findings of Chen (2020), who reported similar patterns among Chinese university students." ✅ "Chen (2020) reported a similar correlation but relied on a cross-sectional convenience sample of 200 students surveyed in a single semester. Our longitudinal data (n = 1,200; three time points) show the apparent relationship attenuates significantly by the second measurement, suggesting Chen's snapshot may have captured a transient artefact of exam-period stress rather than a stable trait." 你甚至不需要说"我的结果跟他一致"。你只需要指出他的方法为什么会让"一致"变成幻觉。

❌ "This is consistent with the broader literature on social media use and well-being (Twenge, 2017; Przybylski, 2019)." ✅ "The tension between Twenge (2017) and Przybylski (2019) is not a contradiction to smooth over — it is the point. Twenge's ecological momentary assessment captures acute in-the-moment effects; Przybylski's diary method measures cumulative load. Our findings align with neither alone: we observe a non-linear pattern that emerges only when you separate passive scrolling from active posting. The literature has not been inconsistent. It has been under-specified." 最后一句，单独截图发朋友圈那种。

所以下次写 discussion，把 "consistent with" 从你的词库里删掉。逼自己回答三个问题：为什么一致？不一致的地方在哪？前人没看到的你看到了什么？答不出来就别写那句。写完初稿，我丢 easydue 过一遍，让它帮我检查有没有哪句 "consistent with" 其实可以展开成机制解释。省下来的时间，拿去真正想清楚你的贡献是什么。别让你的 discussion 读起来像一张"我确实读了文献"的收据。
