Discussion里解释术语，等于告诉教授你是AI

Discussion里重复定义术语，不是严谨，是AI的讨好型解释习惯在出卖你。

你交上去的discussion，教授批了一句 this reads like a textbook, not a discussion. 你以为他嫌你写得浅，嫌你不够深入。不，他嫌你啰嗦。AI生成discussion最致命的毛病不是用词奇怪，不是句式呆板，是在你明明已经用过的术语后面，又补一句解释。每次补一句，你的文章就从研究讨论滑向科普读物。教授不需要你教他什么是cognitive dissonance，他需要你说清楚你的发现为什么重要。

为什么discussion里不能定义术语？因为discussion的唯一职责是回答so what——你的发现意味着什么、边界在哪、对实践有什么影响。你的读者是同行，是已经读过你introduction的人。他们不需要你解释self-efficacy是什么，他们需要你解释为什么你的结果和Smith（2021）的矛盾。你一旦停下来做定义，就把自己从研究者降格成了科普作者。身份一降，语气就变了，教授立刻能闻出来。

看这组对比。❌ Cognitive dissonance, which refers to the psychological discomfort arising from holding contradictory beliefs simultaneously, was found to mediate the relationship between feedback and motivation. ✅ Cognitive dissonance mediated the feedback–motivation link (β = .34, p < .01). 省掉那半句which引导的同位语，信息量一点没少。节奏快了一倍。括号里的统计值比refers to那串废话有信息量多了。AI写东西有个默认设置：怕读者不懂。你的读者是教授，他们比你懂。

再看一组。❌ Self-efficacy, defined as an individual's belief in their capacity to execute actions required to achieve specific goals (Bandura, 1977), played a significant role in predicting task persistence. ✅ Self-efficacy (Bandura, 1977) remained a significant predictor of task persistence across all three cohorts. Bandura 1977这个引用本身就是定义。你不需要再解释一遍。而且第二句我加了across all three cohorts——这才是discussion该干的事：说清楚结果的边界。AI永远不会主动加这个，因为它不知道你的数据长什么样。

那什么时候该定义？Introduction第一次出现的时候，带一句没问题。Literature review里如果跨学科引用，可以带半句。但discussion？你的术语在introduction里已经亮相了，读者已经知道了。再解释就是画蛇添足，而且是最明显的那种——AI那种怕读者不懂所以多说一句的讨好型解释。你写introduction的时候定义一次，写discussion的时候又定义一次，等于告诉教授：我不确定你记不记得我前面说过什么。这比写错语法还掉价。

第三组。❌ The findings suggest that growth mindset, a belief that abilities can be developed through effort and learning, is a more malleable target for intervention than fixed mindset. ✅ Growth mindset proved a more malleable intervention target than fixed mindset, with effect sizes (d = 0.62) supporting targeted curriculum redesign. 注意第二句多了什么：effect size、具体方向、实践建议。这才是discussion的本职工作。AI把篇幅花在定义上，你的结论就只能缩在角落里。把定义删掉，腾出来的空间全给so what。

实操：写完discussion，全文搜索defined as、refers to、which is、a term that。每一个命中都是嫌疑人。删。不确定就问自己：我的教授需要我解释这个词吗？他比你懂。如果删完之后某句话读起来像电报——恭喜你，那才是discussion该有的密度。这步我从来不手动改，直接丢easydue过一遍，它会把多余的定义句标出来让你确认，省得你逐句翻。Discussion写得好不好，教授三秒就能判断。你的术语解释不会帮他判断，只会让他怀疑你是AI。
