实验结果跟理论对不上？你的discussion正在写成一封道歉信

结果跟理论对不上不是你的失败，是你discussion存在的理由。把偏差当问题你就坐在被告席上，把偏差当发现你就站在分析者位置上。

实验数据跑出来，跟课本上写的完全对不上。你盯着屏幕，第一反应是'我是不是做错了'。然后你开始写discussion，打出来的第一句话是'Unfortunately, our results did not match the expected theoretical values, which may be due to experimental errors.' 恭喜，你刚写了一封道歉信。这是绝大多数留学生写lab report discussion时的本能反应——结果不对，先认错。但你教授看的是你的分析能力，不是你的愧疚程度。

Discussion section的本质不是'我为什么错了'，是'这个结果意味着什么'。你的数据跟理论有偏差，这恰恰是你展示科学思维的地方。教科书上的理论值是在理想条件下算出来的。你的实验是在真实条件下做的。这两者之间的gap，才是你discussion该展开的空间。把偏差当成问题，你就坐在被告席上。把偏差当成发现，你就站在分析者的位置上。

结构上四步走。第一步：客观陈述偏差。不要'unfortunately'，直接给数字。'Our measured value of X deviated from the theoretical prediction of Y by Z%.' 第二步：列出可能的解释——系统误差、操作变量、仪器精度，列两到三个，按可能性排序。第三步：这个偏差对你的结论有什么影响，是方向性的还是量级的。第四步：如果重做，具体改什么参数。第二步是核心，也是大多数人写砸的地方。

看对比。❌ 'The results were not as expected due to many possible sources of error in the experiment.' → ✅ 'The measured activation energy (42.3 kJ/mol) was 18% lower than the literature value (51.6 kJ/mol), most likely attributable to underestimation of the reaction temperature at the onset of decomposition.' 第一句把锅甩给'many possible sources'，等于什么都没说。第二句给了具体数值、偏差百分比、具体归因。❌ 'This may be because of human error during the measurement process.' → ✅ 'The 12% mass loss at 350°C is consistent with premature thermal degradation onset, suggesting the thermocouple lagged by approximately 3–5 s during the initial heating ramp.' 'Human error'是学术写作里的垃圾桶词，往里面一扔，分析就结束了。

再来一组。❌ 'Further experiments should be conducted to verify these results.' → ✅ 'A follow-up using a calibrated thermocouple with response time <1 s, combined with triplicate runs at 340–360°C, would isolate whether the discrepancy is instrumental or mechanistic.' 'Further experiments should be conducted'这句话你写了一百次了，教授也看了一百次了。它信息量为零。你要说的是：什么实验、改什么参数、为什么能解决你刚才说的那个具体问题。

写完最该检查的不是语法，是语气。把你的discussion通读一遍，数'unfortunately''regrettably''it is worth noting that'出现了几次。超过两次，删。你的语气应该是冷静的分析师，不是被叫去办公室解释的学生。如果改了两遍还是拿不准哪句该软哪句该硬，丢easydue过一遍，它能把那种过度防御的调子给你压下来。省下的时间拿去核对数据引用。

结果跟理论对不上，不是你的失败，是你discussion存在的理由。如果每次都完美吻合，你写discussion就是在凑字数。偏差是原材料，分析是产品。别把原材料当垃圾扔掉。
