写局限段落不是认输，是划地盘——划错了就是在亲手杀你的论点

局限段落的唯一任务是展示你知道边界在哪里，不是替读者下结论说你的研究不够好。

你的讨论部分写完了，结论也下了，数据也亮了——然后你写了一段局限，把自己刚才说过的话全收回来了。这不是谦逊，这是自我拆台。我看过太多国际学生的局限段落，导师读完后的第一反应不是'哦确实有局限'，而是'那你这篇论文的价值到底在哪？'问题从来不在于你有没有局限——谁都有——在于你讲局限的方式，是在保护你的论点，还是在给它补最后一刀。

最典型的死法开头是这句：'本研究存在若干局限。'几个？读者不知道。什么局限？马上要告诉你了。这句话的功能跟'对不起对不起'一模一样——你还没说错什么，姿态已经矮了。更糟的是，很多学生会在这里列三到四个局限，每一个都解释两句，最后来一句'尽管有这些局限，研究结果仍提供了有价值的洞见'。你品品这个结构：先认罪，再求轻判。导师看到的不是学术诚实，是一个不敢为自己研究背书的人。

正确的打法是三步：点名、划界、前指。第一步，只说一个局限，具体的、你已经想好怎么回应的那个。第二步，说明这个局限的边界在哪里——它影响的是什么，不影响的是什么。第三步，把球踢给未来研究，但用你的语言，不是用'需要进一步研究'这种废话。整个段落控制在三到四句话。对，就这么短。局限段落不是让你展开论述的地方，是展示你知道自己研究边界在哪里的那个地方。

来看对比。❌ 'This study was limited by its small sample size and cross-sectional design, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. Despite these limitations, the results provide valuable insights.' ✅ 'The cross-sectional design captures a single time point, so we cannot claim causality between X and Y. What we can say is that the observed association is consistent with prior longitudinal evidence, which strengthens the plausibility of the mechanism proposed here.' 看出区别了吗？第一句在认罪，第二句在划边界。'Despite' 是万能遮羞布，'What we can say is' 是在告诉导师：我知道我的数据能支撑什么，不能支撑什么。

再来看两组。❌ 'The study had limitations including the self-reported nature of the data, potential social desirability bias, and the homogeneous sample.' ✅ 'Participants self-reported their behaviors, which introduces the possibility of social desirability bias. However, the direction of this bias—if anything—would attenuate the observed effect, making our findings a conservative estimate.' 第二句的'方向是往保守走的'是关键：你不是在说'有偏差所以结果可能不靠谱'，你是在说'就算有偏差，方向也是往小走的，所以我的结论站得住'。这是防守，不是认罪。

❌ 'Future research is needed to address these limitations with a larger and more diverse sample.' ✅ 'A multi-institutional longitudinal study would allow us to test whether the observed relationship persists over time and to rule out reverse causality—the specific threat this design cannot exclude.' 第一句是万能废话，任何论文都能用，等于什么都没说。第二句在告诉导师：我知道下一步该做什么、为什么做、它解决的是哪个具体问题。这种写法让导师觉得你是这个领域里想清楚了的人，不是一个在凑字数的人。

我一般写完局限段落会丢 easydue 过一遍，让它帮我检查两件事：有没有无意识的 'despite' 残留，语气是在划边界还是在道歉。省下来的时间拿去打磨讨论部分前半段的论点。记住一句话：你的局限段落应该让读者觉得'这个作者很清醒'，而不是'这个作者在求我别扣分'。划地盘和认罪的区别，就在这一个姿态里。
