Semi-structured interviews were chosen for this study because they allow participants to express their views in their own words and provide in-depth data."
❌ "Semi-structured interviews were chosen because they provide in-depth data." ✅ "Because the phenomenon is an ongoing process of meaning-making rather than a fixed attribute, the research question demands a method that captures temporal unfolding and participant-driven prioritisation. Semi-structured interviews, with their topic-guide structure, let me follow participants' own sequencing while maintaining focus on the three constructs (belonging, legitimacy, performance) that frame the analysis."
❌ "Thematic analysis was used to analyse the data because it is a flexible and widely used approach for qualitative data." ✅ "Reflexive thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2022) is adopted rather than grounded theory because the aim is theory-informed interpretation, not theory generation. The analytical framework is deliberately bounded by the identity-formation constructs in the literature while still allowing for emergent codes that the framework does not anticipate."
✅ "A quantitative survey was considered to capture prevalence, but this would have reduced the phenomenon to a frequency count and obscured the relational dynamics between institutional pressure and self-narration that the research question requires." 导师分得出来 who chose a method 和 inherited one from a template 的区别。
