写给外行看的方法论限制，别用术语堆砌当遮羞布

写给非专家的方法论限制，最忌讳用术语堆砌代替逻辑解释。严谨不等于晦涩，清晰才是学术诚实的底色。

你写limitations的时候，是不是觉得只要把“sample size was small”换成“the limited sample size constrains the generalizability of findings”，导师就会满意？大错特错。如果读者不是你这个细分领域的，他根本不知道你在限制什么。你堆砌的每一个术语，都是在给外行筑墙。非专家不需要你的黑话，他们需要知道：你承认了什么短板？这短板如何影响结论的可信度？很多留学生在这里栽跟头，是因为混淆了“受众”。给同行看，术语是效率；给跨学科读者或政策制定者看，术语就是噪音。

真正的“balance”不是用词的高级，而是逻辑的透明。❌ 原句："The cross-sectional design precludes causal inference regarding the longitudinal impact of cognitive decline." ✅ 改写："Because we only measured participants once, we cannot say if these changes happened over time or were just a snapshot. This limits how much we can claim about cause and effect." 看到区别了吗？后者把一个统计学术语翻译成了“我们只拍了一张照片，所以说不清时间顺序”。这才是非专家能看懂的限制。你在解释机制，而不是在展示词汇量。

很多人怕说人话，觉得口语化就是降级。错得离谱。学术里的“clarity”才是最高的formality。❌ 原句："The lack of randomization introduces potential selection bias." ✅ 改写："We didn't assign people to groups randomly. That means the people in our groups might have started different, which could skew the results." “Selection bias”对统计门外汉来说是天书，但“people might have started different”是人话。用大白话解释机制，不丢人；让读者猜你在说什么，才叫失格。清晰不是妥协，是沟通的成本最低化。

你还要警惕一种更隐蔽的坑：过度谦虚到失真，或者把limitations写成“愿望清单”。❌ 原句："Future research should employ more sophisticated mixed-methods approaches to triangulate the data." ✅ 改写："Using only surveys limits us. Adding interviews would help, but that requires more time and resources we didn't have." 别把“limitations”写成“我还没做完的清单”。告诉读者你**为什么**没做这件事，而不是只说“最好以后做”。外行需要的是决策依据，不是你的待办事项。

把这步交给 easydue 处理，是我现在写跨学科作业的习惯。我负责把逻辑骨架搭对——哪一步是短板、影响多大；easydue 负责把这些硬邦邦的逻辑翻译成“人话”，同时保留必要的学术骨架。它不会帮你编数据，但能确保你解释“为什么样本小”时，听起来像个懂行的学者在坦诚交代，而不是在念说明书。省下的脑力，拿去打磨论点更值。

最后一组对比给你压箱底。❌ 原句："The reliance on self-report measures introduces recall bias." ✅ 改写："People don't always remember their past behavior accurately. Since they told us what they did, some of that memory might be fuzzy." 这就是差距。严谨的底线不是“难懂”，而是“不骗人”。当你觉得读者可能跟不上时，你的第一反应应该是解释，而不是换更难的词。把复杂的概念拆解成简单的因果关系，这才是高级的学术表达。

别再用“复杂”来伪装你的严谨了。真正的方法论限制，是把研究的边界用读者能走的语言画出来。难懂是偷懒，清晰才是本事。下次改稿前问自己：如果一个完全不懂我专业的人读这段话，他能复述出我的局限吗？如果不能，重写。
