This study makes the following contributions to the existing literature."

We propose a novel framework"之所以听起来aggressive,不是因为你用了"novel",是因为"framework"暗示一整套系统、一个结构。"We propose a method for addressing X under conditions Y and Z"——同一个动词,scope一收窄,aggressiveness直接消失。

❌ "This study introduces a novel method that fundamentally transforms how researchers approach cross-cultural communication." ✅ "This study introduces a method for identifying discourse-level code-switching patterns in bilingual academic writing, demonstrating its applicability to a corpus of 240 student essays."

❌ "Our findings suggest that AI detection tools may have significant implications for non-native English writers." ✅ "Our findings indicate that two out of five detection tools flagged 40% or more of non-native writers' submissions as AI-generated, a rate 18 percentage points higher than native speakers."

但你没问自己一个更根本的问题:你的方法真的覆盖了你claim的那个范围吗?❌ "Our framework provides a comprehensive approach to assessing L2 writing quality." ✅ "Our framework, validated on a 50-participant sample in applied linguistics, demonstrates consistent reliability (κ = 0.81) for detecting discourse-level coherence issues in L2 English." scope对了,"we demonstrate"听着就理所当然。scope没锁死,你写"we note a minor observation"都嫌多。

My data is X. My method only tests Y. I cannot claim Z." 然后你的contribution sentence就是这句话的正面表述。
