审稿人说 "please clarify this paragraph" 或者 "the writing in Section 3 is unclear"——你第一反应是什么?我见过太多人打开 Grammarly 改两小时,然后在 response letter 里写一句 "We have improved the language throughout the manuscript."。
❌ Response: "We have revised the language in Section 3 to improve clarity." ✅ Response: "We have rewritten the third paragraph of Section 3 to make the causal chain explicit. The original version moved from [A] to [C] without explaining the intermediate mechanism [B]. We now state the mechanism directly at sentence 2 and provide a two-sentence justification before presenting the outcome."
再给一组: ❌ Response: "We apologize for the unclear writing. We have gone through the manuscript carefully and improved readability." ✅ Response: "The reviewer noted that the transition between the methodology and results subsections was unclear. We were originally using a single paragraph to summarize three different experimental conditions. We have now separated them into labeled sub-paragraphs (Condition A, Condition B) and added a one-sentence rationale before each condition explaining why it was included."
Section X": ❌ Response: "We have reorganized Section 2 as requested." ✅ Response: "We have restructured Section 2 to follow the reviewer's suggested logic: first establishing the gap in prior work (new paragraph 1), then explaining why the existing methods fail to fill it (new paragraph 2), and only then introducing our approach. The original version introduced our method before establishing the gap, which likely caused the confusion the reviewer identified."
